In the sample above, we hear the enhanced piano accompaniment throughout.  SATB voices join in after the intro for the first verse.  For the second time through, we hear an instrumental countermelody played by a violin.  This is a good way to extend this lovely hymn.

In the sample below, we again hear the enhanced piano accompaniment throughout with SATB voices joining in for the verse the first time through.  This time we hear a vocal countermelody with the verse the second time through.  Both countermelodies can be used with the hymnbook accompaniment alone or hymnbook accompaniment and this enhanced piano accompaniment together… or use this accompaniment on the organ!  So many options.
