In this sample, we hear the beginning four minutes of the pioneer preludes. For the most part in this book, we hear each hymn with piano alone for the first time and then with the instrumental countermelody added on the second time through. These countermelodies could be played on C instruments of all types: flute, violin, oboe, piano, organ etc. This prelude could also be enjoyed played as a duet at home.
