Whether it’s for getting the wash done on Mondays, or having certain traditions to look forward to at Christmas time, schedules and routines are useful things. They help everyone know what to expect and look forward to… and they help get things done!
The schedule for Singing Time that I have always followed goes like this:
Week 1: Introduce the new song for the month and start to learn it. Throw in a few other songs too.
Week 2: Finish learning the new song. Throw in a few other songs too.
Week 3: In the form of a game (single song review games), you can sing the new song a hundred times and the kids will think they’re having fun. Well… they will be having fun! Throw in a few other songs too. 🙂
Week 4: In the form of a game (multiple song review games) or a “Choose and Review” activity, you can review all the songs the children have learned so far for the CSMP… plus other songs as needed. You can always add in a few seasonal songs or action songs, or songs that go along with the theme of the month.
