Description

The Lord is My Shepherd is hymn #108 in the LDS hymnbook.

Text: James Montgomery, 1771-1854; based on Psalm 23

Music: Thomas Koschat, 1845-1914

Our arrangement (©20015 CC) includes:

SATB for organ or piano, the same SATB found in the current LDS hymnbook.  Choir or congregation members singing SATB parts can use the regular LDS hymnbook.

Enhanced piano accompaniment which can be used alone, or with the organ SATB as a piano/organ duet accompaniment for congregational singing.

Vocal countermelody which is written for the last part of verses 2 and 3.

In this sample, you will hear just the organ playing the SATB intro.  The enhanced piano accompaniment joins in for the first part of the sample verse, with the vocal countermelody, played by an oboe, joining in for the very last line.  This could be sung by a soloist, small group, choir or played on a musical instrument.
