Joy to the World is hymn #201 in HYMNS of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (1985).

Text: Isaac Watts, 1674-1748; alt. by William W. Phelps, 1792-1872. Included in the first LDS hymnbook, 1835.

Music: George F. Handel, 1685-1759; arr. by Lowell Mason, 1792-1872

Our arrangement (©2006 CC) includes:

SATB for organ or piano, the same SATB found in the current hymnbook of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  Choir or congregation members singing the SATB parts can use the regular hymnbook.

Enhanced piano accompaniment which can be used alone, or with the organ SATB as a piano/organ duet accompaniment for congregational singing.

Vocal countermelody which could be used on some verses.

In this sample, the enhanced piano accompaniment plays the intro and all verses.  Vocal countermelody is sung by the female voices in verses 2 and 3 – and the instrumental countermelody is played by a flute in verse 4.
