As I Search the Holy Scriptures #277 – with instrumental countermelody

$1.00 USD

As I Search the Holy Scriptures is hymn #277 in the LDS hymnbook.

Text and music: C. Marianne Johnson Fisher, b. 1932

Our arrangement (©2014 CC) includes:

SATB for organ or piano, the same SATB found in the current LDS hymnbook.  Those singing SATB parts can use the regular hymnbook.

Enhanced piano accompaniment which can be used alone, or with the organ SATB as a piano/organ duet accompaniment for congregational singing.

Instrumental countermelody which could be used on some or all verses.

In this sample, the organ plays the SATB intro, which happens to be the entire hymn in this case.  For the second time through, the enhanced piano accompaniment joins in, as well as the instrumental countermelody, played by a violin. Suggested musical instruments for our countermelodies include flute, violin, oboe, cello and organ.
